Cookie Policy

How Witz uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies on the public catalog.

Witz uses a small amount of browser storage so the public catalog can remember interface choices, route users to relevant event views, and protect the service. We aim to avoid non-essential tracking and to follow GDPR and ePrivacy requirements that apply in Europe.

Strictly Necessary Storage

Witz may use first-party cookies, local storage, and session storage to remember language, theme, selected city or country, all-events preference, temporary nearby-location cache, and whether certain interface hints have already been shown.

This storage is used to provide requested functionality, keep the interface consistent, reduce repeated prompts, and maintain site reliability. Blocking it may make language, theme, nearby discovery, or browse filters less consistent.

Location Storage

Nearby discovery can use browser geolocation only after your browser asks for permission. The site may store the matched city key temporarily so it does not need to ask again during the same browsing flow.

The site may also use an approximate IP-based location lookup to suggest a city. External location lookup providers may receive the data needed to perform that lookup under their own policies.

Analytics and Non-Essential Technologies

If Witz uses non-essential analytics, advertising, profiling, or similar technologies that require consent under applicable ePrivacy rules, we will rely on consent and provide a way to refuse or withdraw it where technically applicable.

Aggregated operational measurements may be used to understand reliability and catalog performance, but Witz does not use public-site cookies to sell personal data or build sensitive visitor profiles.

Third-Party Destinations

Ticket sellers, organisers, venues, maps, social platforms, payment providers, and other external sites linked from Witz may set their own cookies or tracking technologies. Their policies apply once you leave Witz.

Your Choices

You can clear or block cookies, local storage, and session storage in your browser settings. You can also reset Witz interface preferences by clearing site data for witz.lol.

Browser-level blocking may affect strictly necessary functionality. Withdrawing consent for non-essential technologies does not affect processing that happened lawfully before withdrawal.
